Prof. Yu Huang

Biography

Prof Yu Huang is currently Chang Jiang Distinguished Professor in Tongji University. He was also the recipient of the Distinguished Young Scholar awarded by National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2016.

He obtained his PhD degree geotechnical engineering from Tongji University, Shanghai, China in 1999.

Professor Huang’s primary area of research includes earthquake engineering geology, geological disasters, computational geomechanics, foundation engineering, and environmental geology. He has authored more than 170 technical publications, including more than 50 papers in international refereed journals such as the Engineering Geology, Landslides, Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering (ASCE), Bulletin of Engineering Geology and the Environment, Natural Hazards, Environmental Earth Sciences, Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics, Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, and Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities (ASCE).

As the first author, he has written two monographs entitled “Geo-disaster modeling and analysis: An SPH-based approach” published by Springer-Verlag in 2014 and “Hazard Analysis of Seismic Soil Liquefaction” published by Springer-Verlag in 2017.

He now serves on the editorial board for the Engineering Geology (Elsevier), Bulletin of Engineering Geology and the Environment (Springer), Geotechnical Research (ICE), and Geoenvironmental Disasters (Springer).
